Boomer Esiason, former NFL quarterback and now on-air analyst for CBS’ NFL Today, along with Maker’s Mark president Bill Samuels Jr. and Turfway Park president Robert Elliston, today signed about 800 of the sixth annual Turfway/Maker’s Mark bottle, that commemorates the Lane’s End Stakes at Turfway Park

Boomer Esiason, former NFL quarterback and now on-air analyst for CBS’ NFL Today, along with Maker’s Mark president Bill Samuels Jr. and Turfway Park president Robert Elliston, today signed about 800 of the sixth annual Turfway/Maker’s Mark bottle, that commemorates the Lane’s End Stakes at Turfway Park.
Proceeds from the sale of the bottle totaled more than $32,000 and benefited the Boomer Esiason Foundation, established by Esiason and his wife, Cheryl, in 1993 after their son, Gunnar, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. The foundation funds research aimed at finding a cure for cystic fibrosis and works to improve the quality of life of the 30,000 Americans living with the disease. Gunnar will shortly graduate from high school and will be going to college this year.
Maker’s Mark produced only 6,000 of the limited edition 375 ml bottles, which reportedly sold out within hours. The black-and-silver label featured Esiason’s picture capped by the name Boomer and flanked by yardage markers. Each bottle was hand-numbered and dipped in black wax instead of Maker’s Mark’s traditional red wax.
